A Mother’s Day Menu

May 6, 2010

Putting together this week’s Cookstr 10 gave me a kick in the pants to figure out my own Mothers’ Day Menu. There’s always something a little comical and mildly confusing about Mothers’ Day when you are a mother, and have a mother…it’s the Mothers’ Day equivalent of the sandwich generation. Am I the pamperer, or the pamperee?

Well, both, if possible. And just to state for the record that Mothers’ Day has never been a holiday that has plucked at my heartstrings (nor my own mother’s heartstrings), so while I would be sorry not to receive a couple of handmade cards from my little guys, boxes of jewelry or overpriced bouquets are not needed.

Anyway, I think I will be making dinner for my mom with my family on Sunday, which makes me happy (and her birthday is today, Happy Birthday, Mama!) so it’s a two-for meal. And this is what I am planning: pretty, simple, and springy…we’d love to hear what you’re making for your mom (or what you hope someone is making for you!).
